How does automatic bridge and tunnel detection work?

The Course Builder automatically detects bridges and tunnels along your course as you draw it. When structures are found, you'll see a notification like "Auto-detected: 4 bridges" appear on the map.

Why This Matters
Bridges and tunnels can cause elevation data inaccuracies in GPS files because the recorded elevation may reflect the water/ground level below rather than the actual road surface. The Course Builder identifies these structures so you can:

• See them highlighted on the map (shown in gray/dark gray)
  

• View them marked on the elevation profile chart
  

• Use the Elevation Tools to flatten these sections for more accurate race modeling
  

This automatic detection helps ensure your race plan calculations are based on the actual riding surface elevation.
